Job Overview:

Are you passionate about making a difference in the field of Health & Safety? We are looking for a Director Staff Functions Health & Safety Nordics to lead and develop H&S initiatives across Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, and internationally. This key leadership position will allow you to influence and shape the H&S culture, ensuring compliance, well-being, and safety for employees across the organization.

As the Director H&S Nordics, you will be part of the global H&S management team and report directly to the Vice President of Health & Safety. You will manage Health Services in Sweden and act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Corporate Staff Functions internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage a national team of H&S specialists, including Health Services reporting to you.
• Act as SPOC for Corporate Staff Functions internationally, developing and communicating the implementation of the company’s Health & Safety strategy, plans, and KPIs.
• Promote and drive a culture of World-Class Health & Safety across the organization.
• Represent Health & Safety at a national level in work environment fora and local networks.
• Support international projects and the Center of Excellence on health and safety issues.
• Monitor, report, and proactively advise on health & safety matters in accordance with legislation and organizational standards.
• Ensure compliance with relevant health & safety legislation and support line managers in Sweden with medical examinations and reintegration processes.
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of H&S management systems in accordance with ISO 45001 standards.
• Manage contracts with Health suppliers and ensure the delivery of necessary services.

Desired Profile:

We are looking for a proactive and communicative leader with exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong networker. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Health & Safety management, both nationally and internationally, and the ability to work within a large, complex organization. You will be structured, results-oriented, and capable of navigating and managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including line managers, workers’ councils, and unions.

Required Education and Experience:

• A relevant university degree (Master’s level).
• Professional education and experience as an H&S engineer or specialist.
• Broad experience in health and safety matters, both nationally and internationally.
• Proven experience as an international manager, with a track record of implementing strategic initiatives and improvements.
• Experience working in large, complex organizations, handling multiple internal interfaces effectively.
• Fluency in both English and Swedish.

Geographical Area of Responsibility:

Your responsibilities will cover Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, with an international scope across other countries including Poland, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, and the UK.
