Soros Consulting is supporting our client in finding an Interim IT Project Manager for Project Phoenix Reborn

Our client is initiating Project Phoenix Reborn, a high-priority initiative aimed at automating the firewall request process—from intake to technical implementation—while introducing configuration and lifecycle management of firewall rules. Soros Consulting is now assisting in the search for an experienced Interim IT Project Manager to lead this effort.

This role requires excellent coordination skills across Clients IT’s multi-domain landscape (Cloud IT, Tech IT, Blue IT, Nuclear IT), strong stakeholder engagement, and delivery management expertise. The project will be executed on the Helix NG SP platform as the preferred request portal and must align with VIT architecture and security standards.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the full delivery lifecycle of Project Phoenix Reborn from initiation to operational handover.
• Drive automation of the firewall request process across all involved IT domains.
• Coordinate dependencies between request workflows, configuration management, and rule lifecycle governance.
• Define and implement a RASCI model covering architecture, operations, and IT security.
• Ensure alignment with the client’s IT process frameworks, architecture principles, and security policies.
• Manage risks, critical paths, and project scope boundaries.
• Prepare and deliver decision materials for SteerCo, including tool evaluations (internal vs third-party solutions).
• Oversee integration with Helix NG SP, including data source identification and operational planning.
• Secure documentation and processes to ensure long-term auditability, traceability, and stability.
• Ensure successful knowledge transfer and readiness for transition to operations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in managing complex IT infrastructure or network security projects.
• Proven delivery of automation or LEAN process initiatives.
• Experience in multi-domain firewall environments (on-prem, cloud, hybrid).
• Comfortable working in matrix organizations with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of network access control, security governance, and ITIL-aligned processes.
• Knowledge of modern network architecture, segmentation, and firewall frameworks.
• Familiarity with SDN, identity-based access, and rule lifecycle management.
• Ability to bridge technical details with operational needs and business goals.
• Fluent in Swedish and English.

Education:

• University degree in IT, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
• Project Management certification (a plus, but not mandatory).
