On behalf of our client, we are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Business Controller to join their finance team. This crucial role will support their commercial vehicle division across five key markets: Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The Senior Business Controller will be integral in financial planning, analysis, and control, ensuring that financial strategies are aligned with business objectives. We seek a seasoned professional who excels in a matrix organization and can drive impactful financial outcomes. The ideal candidate should also be prepared to engage in routine tasks when necessary, demonstrating a hands-on and adaptable approach to their work.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis: Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes within the division. Provide detailed analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making and daily business operations.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Ensure compliance with corporate policies and external regulations. Contribute to long-term strategic planning by providing financial projections and scenario analysis to support growth objectives.
Performance Management: Monitor and analyze financial performance against targets. Develop tools to enhance performance tracking and reporting. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Cost Control & Efficiency: Develop and implement cost control measures. Drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
Business Partnering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and regional managers to support business initiatives and achieve financial objectives.
Matrix Organization Management: Effectively manage and influence within a matrix organization, ensuring clear communication and alignment of goals across multiple markets.
Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure robust internal controls are in place.
Project Support: Provide financial expertise and support for various projects and business cases, including investments and strategic initiatives.
Hands-on Approach: Be willing to engage in routine tasks and support the team in various capacities to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, preferably within a B2B environment. Experience in the automotive industry is advantageous but not required.
Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial modeling and analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Technology: Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Advanced Excel skills are required.
Presentation Skills: Ability to create useful and engaging presentations that clearly communicate financial insights and strategic recommendations.
Attributes: Proactive, results-oriented, and capable of working independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Languages: Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in Swedish, Finnish, or other regional languages is a plus.
